Stable Triple-Wavelength Random Fiber Laser Based on Fiber Bragg Gratings

چکیده

We demonstrate a generation of three lasing wavelengths with the assistance Rayleigh backscattering as stabilizer peak power variations. The proposed laser consists combination semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and erbium-doped fiber (EDFA) amplifying media. Three Bragg gratings are employed selective wavelength selectors at 1544, 15747 1550 nm. At 110 mA SOA current 18 dBm EDFA output power, flattened spectrum 0.9 dB variation is attained. In terms stability, maximum fluctuation for individual 0.24 within 120 min observation period. Without effect, flatness severely degraded. This shows that weakly distributed photons can be utilized stabilizers in systems.

Multiwavelength fiber laser based on multimode fiber Bragg gratings using offset launch technique

A multiwavelength fiber laser based on multimode fiber Bragg gratings (MM-FBGs) is proposed and demonstrated. The laser, which is comprised of two MM-FBGs connected in a parallel configuration, can yield 10 stable output wavelengths using the offset launch technique.

Nonlinear Fiber Bragg Gratings

In this paper we review some of the dominant topics in fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). The combination of theory and simulations shows that these structures can use in filters, nonlinear fiber optical applications, soliton propagations etc. We discussed the theory of FBGs, grating solitons, Bragg soliton generation in intrinsic media and birefringence effects in FBGs together with some numerical s...

All-optical fiber anemometer based on laser heated fiber Bragg gratings.

A fiber-optic anemometer based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) is presented. A short section of cobalt-doped fiber was utilized to make a fiber-based "hot wire" for wind speed measurement. Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) were fabricated in the cobalt-doped fiber using 193 nm laser pulses to serve as localized temperature sensors. A miniature all-optical fiber anemometer is constructed by using two F...

Wavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating.

We demonstrate a wavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating. The saturable absorber used to enable passive mode-locking in the fiber laser is a section of microfiber covered by graphene film, which allows light-graphene interaction via the evanescent field of the microfiber. The wavelength of the laser can be continuously...

Highly polarized all-fiber thulium laser with femtosecond-laser-written fiber Bragg gratings.

We demonstrate and characterize a highly linearly polarized (18.8 dB) narrow spectral emission (<80 pm) from an all-fiber Tm laser utilizing femtosecond-laser-written fiber Bragg gratings. Thermally-dependent anisotropic birefringence is observed in the FBG transmission, the effects of which enable both the generation and elimination of highly linearly polarized output. To our knowledge, this i...
